They're all a bit young for me...
but this many girls with the clap is disturbing news, particularly to the dad of a 13-year old boy:
When the studies that make fun of abstinence education came out showing that girls who "took the pledge" were more likely to engage in oral and anal sex, the initial reaction was more humorous than serious. After all, the idea of a blowjob or buttsecks not violating your virginity pledge is twisted logic. What we're seeing here is though is definitive support for the notion that we need to teach teens about condom use. The fundigelicals make a big deal about the rubber breaking and all that, but I'd wager the incidence of STDs in this sample would be much, much smaller if these girls regularly pulled out condoms and made those boys wrap up first.
One in four teenage girls in the United States has a sexually-transmitted disease, a study has indicated.
The study, by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), found an even higher prevalence of STDs among black girls.
Researchers analysed data from a nationally representative sample of 838 US girls aged 14 to 19.
